Do I need a certified home inspector?
In the state of Kansas you do not need to be certified. However I have completed over 80 hours of classroom training and passed the National Home Inspectors Examination. I am also an active member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and am working to be ASHI certified as well as being an active member of the local ASHI chapter.
Is there radon in my home?
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer. You can't see or smell radon. Testing is the only way to know your level of exposure.Kansas requires anyone taking measurement to take 16 hours of radon monitor classwork and pass the NRPP Residential Radon Measurement Provider Exam (NRPP-RT) to be a certified measurement technician. My certification number is KS-MS-0540.
Do I need my home inspected?
Do you know if the electrical panel is sufficient for the property? Do you know if the roof has storm damage? Do you know how old the HVAC system is? If you answered no to these simple questions then the answer is yes, you need a home inspection. BRPI will answer these questions as well as many, many other questions you may not even know to ask or look for.
